The Mountain of Time part 2: Each According to His Own Ability

Have you read part 1, "Talents in Your Hands"?  Click here to do so.

“For the kingdom of heaven is like a man traveling to a far country, who called his own servants and delivered his goods to them.  And to one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one, to each according to his own ability; and immediately he went on a journey. Then he who had received the five talents went and traded with them, and made another five talents.  And likewise, he who had received two gained two more also. But he who had received one went and dug in the ground, and hid his lord’s money. After a long time, the lord of those servants came and settled accounts with them."
- Matthew 25: 14-19 NKJV

With shutdowns and stay at home orders in place worldwide due to the Covid-19 virus pandemic, many people have a massive amount of time on their hands... mountains worth!

So, do we stare at this mountain of time or do we climb? The sheer grandeur of this mountain, like all others, is impressive to behold and must be approached with the help of He who has given us the ability to climb high places. Habakkuk 3: 19NLT
The Sovereign Lord is my strength! He makes me as surefooted as a deer, able to tread upon the heights.

Today, mountain climbing has become more of a recreational sport than a necessity for survival or a search for the unknown of what's on the other side. Unfortunately, this is often the case for how people look at spending time with God.  They relegated it to little more than an adrenaline rush for special holidays and the exercise of ritual weekly meetings instead of approaching it as a necessity for survival or a search for the unknown of God's plan for our lives.

In part one of this blog message, I proposed that our new found time be seen through spiritual eyes and accepted as something that God wants a return on as presented in the parable of the three servants in Matthew 25.  In viewing it this way, our understanding of the Father's love for us as individuals deepens. The mountain terrain and altitude of time vary as it's placed in the hands of teenagers, two-parent households, single parents, college students, couples on the fringe of divorce, pastors, the elderly, teachers, laid-off workers, those who are now working from home, shut down small business owners and those who were struggling before all of this made it worse
Everyone's mountain will be different. Just take a look at these two. Try going up those the same way!  What's more important is that the base of each mountain is different.  So where you begin your ascent will determine the urgency for the breath of the Holy Spirit to takeover!

My friend, what God has crafted for you during this pandemic, is just for you as is the destined outcome from how you invest this time. The bible says in Hebrews 4:13, that not a creature exists that is concealed from His sight. He is keenly aware of all that He has created and He looks on you and me in love through the precious blood of His son, Jesus.

For I know the plans and thoughts that I have for you,’ says the Lord, ‘plans for peace and well-being and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.                               -Jeremiah 29:11AMP

Your eyes have seen my unformed substance; and in Your book were all written the days that were appointed for me, when as yet there was not one of them [even taking shape].     -Psalm139:16AMP

For it is [not your strength, but it is] [a]God who is effectively at work in you, both to will and to work [that is, strengthening, energizing, and creating in you the longing and the ability to fulfill your purpose] for His good pleasure.                                                                  -Philippians 2:13AMP

Are you ready to climb?

The Lord is with you and you are loved,

Toni
